Baking Bread in Your Cob Oven

Updated: Feb 21, 2021

Baking bread in your #CobOven is not as hard as it seems.

Frequently Asked Questions about Earth Ovens

But isn’t sourdough really hard?

And complicated?

And don’t you have to feed the starter every day?

or is it every week?

Sourdough need not be complicated (and you don’t have to feed it that often).

Breakfast: Hannah’s sourdough, grilled, w/garlic, cheese, hot and melted, then a forkful or two of sauerkraut. Evan, our summer woofer, made the braid around August or September; I put seed garlic in the ground in October; I should transplant any day now. Last week I was in CA visiting friends who grow oranges. They had more than they could sell so I sent out an email the day before I left. 40 friends and neighbors ordered 520 lbs of oranges; brought ‘em home in my little pickup. The last ten pounds goes out today. Nice to be able to bring a little sunshine during the rainy season.
